- I am a big believer in positivity.

- I know that sometimes it is so hard to see positivity, especially when everything seems so bleak. So I really appreciate others who try and get everyone thinking about the good and not focussing on the bad.

- I love Candy Chang's attempts at keeping both community spirit alive, reminding people of the good times and at creating a talking point, getting people out and about. The added bonus of a little love being shown to delapidated buildings is also awesome!

- This Pirate made me smile! I wish I could walk around like a Pirate every day!

- Got to show the woman a little love, I think there should be a project like this in every city, I know I would appreciate it, and I can't be the only one can I?!

- Theres nothing better than brightening someones day, and I think that this would be a sure fire way to brighten mine, remind people that there is plenty of time left, and that they should have lots of goals and aspirations to achieve.

- Somehow I always find that having a goal, makes the journey all the more rewarding at the end. Having something to aim for, can make the actual process of aiming more enjoyable.

- There is an interview with Chang here, where she explains her motivations behind her projects, and a full catalogue of her projects here.

- I think it would be fun to have a project like this running, perhaps in a school, or at a fete, just as a good way of bringing the community together. I'm going to work on this one. Might end up on my friend's wall . . .but I shall keep you updated!

A Love Affair With: Jeffrey Moustache #6

Hello world!

- Home pelut, o és molt savi o és molt ruc. - Wise words ;)

- One very brilliant hairy man is a certain MR. Jeffrey Moustache.

- Photographing primarily action sports, he sometimes turns his hands to other ventures.

- I know I've said it before, but I love photography most when it captures the essence of the person in the photograph. I don't like flat photographs - the person is there, but they have been dressed up and altered so much they no longer represent themselves. They become blank.

- Having said that, I think it is most difficult to capture a sportsman (or woman! Oh heyyy Suray Fernandez!!) looking past simply what they are doing. Sure you can take a picture of them competing, but that somehow loses the character behind the eyes of the individual. Moustache is one of the gifted few who can capture both at once.

A Love Affair With: StreetArtUtopia #5

- Recently I've been coming across more and more examples of street art.

-In my home town, on the television, and more often than not, on the internet.

- I'm not entirely sure what my opinions on street art are. Sometimes I think they are ridiculously clever for example here

- The artwork itself is pretty mundane, the setting is pretty mundane, but the concept is brilliant, and that's what makes this peice so amazing. I am sure that if I spotted this in the street it would make me smile!

- But then there is the less artistic pieces of street art. Skilled artists have my approval, vandals do not, and I think there is a very fine line between the two.

- Han's ridiculous story time! *GASP!*- When I was in high school, there was a gang of boys in the year above me, who, thought it was hilarious to walk around the village in the middle of the night, spray painting the number '7' onto people's fences etc (there were seven members in their gang, imaginative, I know) This is the sort of thing I am talking about, it's annoying, it's ugly and it's not clever.

- It's people like that who make the general public assume that all art is bad, but I think as long as it is done tastefully, and is not harming anything, then why get upset? I know the tax payer is going to have to pay to remove it, but if it is improving the appearance of a public place, should it not stay?

- These steps in particular are brilliant, they just brighten up the area. Now, personally, I have a very 'old fashioned' taste. I would be inclined to protest against street art, but I think that in this instance, it really does improve, what is otherwise a pretty drab area, plus, I also think it brightens up the area and makes it look a lot cleaner than it would if there were just grey steps there.

- This is perhaps verging a little too close to the idea of graffiti, but I think in this area, it works. I like how it makes a feature of the shutters.

- In one of the towns in the south of France I passed through a couple of winter's ago I saw a building painted very similarly to this one, and it was really impressive, this I think is definitely on the 'art' side of street art!

- The first thing I notice about the above picture, is that despite the crumbling building (reminds me of my house!) is how clean the area is, just look at that pavement!

- The next three images are without a shadow of a doubt my absolute favourites. Words cannot describe how in love I am. I LOVE that they are most definitely pieces of art, yet they are so well integrated with the environment that they seamlessly involve the surroundings and the art together.

-This is SO creepy, yet brilliant at the same time! Can you just picture walking through the woods on a hike and encountering that!?

- I am so in love with the last image, it makes me so happy just to look at it! I hope that one day I come across something like that in my city. . . or maybe I will start to instigate them myself!

- I am definitely pro-street art, as long as it's clever as opposed to blatantly gratuitous!

- Bon dia!

- Today I am in a 'get it done' sort of mood, motivation is my middle name!

-having said that, I won't get anything done, I have work ridiculously early in the morning, and the thought of having to drag myself out of bed is almost killing me at the moment! - probably going to get early morning phonecalls again, am I the only one with drunken friends who find this amusing, nearly every night?! I can't be, can I?!

- but for days like these, a suitable (incredibly embarassing) soundtrack is required!

- Theres nothing like a bit of Euro. Euro-anything is going to be pure cheese, and that's the way I like it!

- I hope everyone is having a beautiful day.

- Not sure why I am up at this time in the morning, oh, no, wait! I am perfectly aware. It's because I get ridiculous calls from my friends at stupid times in the morning when they are locked out of their houses and think it's hilarious to share this with me whilst hurling abuse my way!!! AGH!

- ah well, nothing like an early morning music sesh to put me in a better mood. Enjoy!
