Store Lovin' #3 : Longwinterfarm (Some Gorgeous Cosmetics!)

-So, a couple of months ago, I don't know how or I'm not sure why, I think it was on my quest for a new perfume (damn you lacoste, bring back inspiration! it's my scent, without you I am scentless!)

-I really struggle to find perfumes that I like the smell of, perfumes that are not too sweet, not too flowery, not too musky, not too. . yada yada yada!

store love

-Anyway, somehow I stumbled across Longwinterfarm on Etsy, and decided it was worth a bash, I bought a perfume oil and two lipbalms (me and lipbalm, you know! I can't get enough, I hate lipgloss - too sticky - feels like goosefat, but you can't beat a good lipbalm!)

allready bought like!

-I bought the ginger peach lipbalm, the beachday perfume oil and the licorice lipbalm (which I don't appear to be able to find anymore - boo, it's awesome!)

- I LOVE these so much, I can't even explain it!

- The lipbalms are ace, and just superior quality, I get annoyed if I can't find one of them!, until now I have been an avid user of burts bees, but I tell you they have competition now!

- I've never really used perfume oil before so was uber curious. . and I'm so glad I chose to purchase, I LOVE this aswell - it smells so summery! I'm actually - as we speak (i.e. I'm multi-tasking which in my world is code for getting very distracted!) ordering some more goodies because I am so impressed

- I'm even throwing in one for my best friend Suki but shh don't tell her!!

will be mine pronto

- Chai! I have high expectations, especially due to the copious amounts of chai latte I drink on a regular basis!

will be mine pronto dos

- The only problem with these is the packaging (i.e. I chuck them around a lot in the bottom of my bag and they tend to get a little tatty) but, I can deal, means nothing to me!

- I also have REALLY dry skin on my hands, smoking, whatever, and I usually carry around  moisturiser with me, but I didn't have anything on me apart from my perfume oil, which I used, and oh my goodness how moisturising?!  Win!

- Go check out the shop, then buy some stuff, then realise why Im so in love!!!!!

- Oh and how ridiculously cute is their profile please?! This description made me smile silly amounts!

About me:: I'm a 30 year old mom of two living in western Maine, where I share my life with kitties, puppies, and my favorite boy, Joe. I'm a major craft addict, playing with sewing, knitting, spinning, felt crafts, candle making, embroidery, and of course, soaping! Yup, I'm one busy chick. Nope, I don't take naps.[. . .] About Joe: Joe's my very best friend, boyfriend, and business partner, and there's a good 50-70% chance he'll be the one packing your order. What's he like? Well, he's good at washing his hands, being pretty tall, having an Indiana twang, and randomly breaking into Rick Roll songs

RIGHTO off to spend more money! Toodles!

- These spooky images are part of La Evolución Silenciosa on the Isla Mujeres, Mexico. At a depth  of 9 metres they are creating an artificial reef for wildlife to inhabit.

-They are created by artist Jason deCaires Taylor. Taylor was born to an English father and a Guyanese mother. He spent time during his childhood in Malaysia and worked as a SCUBA instructor (hmmm I see a pattern here, clearly SCUBA artists are my new obsession!!)

- Personally, if these were my sculptures, I'd want them at just the right height, so when the tide went out they would emerge slowly from the sea! All creepy Pirates of the Caribbean stylee! I know that defeats the object of creating a reef, but it would still be awesome!

- Speaking of Pirates of the Caribbean, I LOVE Penelope Cruz, she's freaking gorgeous, definitely my celebrity crush. One of my favourite films is Volver. Seen it? No? Go watch!! (Yohanna Cobo, yeaaa, you'll have to make your own mind up on her, can't decide if she's freaking annoying or brilliant, I love her regardless though!)

2 :10 Nina Katchadourian and Her Spider Home Rescue Service!

Marketing-Tips-For-Spiders
(This made me laugh!)

- For the last two years I have lived in a block of flats, which is literally falling down. They are wood framed buildings, and let me tell you, even on the fourth floor, when the wind picks up it is the scariest thing I have ever experienced.

- We were stood in my bathroom, and you could see the water in the toilet sloshing back and forth! So scary!

- Having said that, my friends have lived in worse places! one of my best friends' kitchen windows nearly fell out, and the ceiling in my other friends' flat fell through when their upstairs neighbours were having a shower!! - Long story short I am so excited to move into our new house (STURDY!)

- Anyway, I digress. The point I was trying to make was, if someone had snook around in the middle of the night filling in all the cracks and fixing my home, I wouldn't be fussed! I'd be grateful! Unlike the Spiders Nina Katchadourian fixed webs for! . . . ungrateful little so and so's!!

- Nina Katchadourian is a bit of a contemporary artist. Born in california she spent a lot of time growing up surrounded by nature on the island of Pörtö.

- One of her projects which caught my eye was her fixing of spiders webs, apparently she used bits of starched sewing thread and tweezers to fix spiders' webs. Every time she fixed one, the spider would come back (usually over night) disgard her threads and patch the web up properly.

- I'm not entirely sure what posessed her to do it. . it's a little bit out there, and I'm not sure whether I'm impressed she had the patience to do it. . . or whether I'm a little bit worried she spent so much time doing it!! Either way, it's pretty cool, and secretly I'm a bit impressed she tried to help the spiders. RSPCA need not worry!

2 :4 Look What I Found, Leandro Erlich & His Pool!

- You know when you are trawling the internet, and you happen across something amazing, and you just want to tell someone about it?, but, chances are, you are sat, on your own smiling a little smile to yourself about how awesome said thing is.

-Well I'm going to show you my stumblings!

- I recently discovered a project by Leandro Erlich . (He's from Argentina - 'nuff said)

Leandro Erlich 1999

- The idea is that he creates the illusion of a real swimming pool, with all the fixtures, but then there appear to be people under the water, where secretly they are in the basement. . . blows my mind!

- I just love the whole concept of this. . . imagine you're viewing a house
"oh look it has a pool" - *trots outside*
"what the heck?!"

- It would be class! . . and I still have the mental capacity of a 12 year old! ah well, simple things ey?!

- The whole construction is pretty seamless, and that's what makes it so awesome. Having said that. I'm a swimmer at heart, I'd take a real pool over this anyday!

- Definitely check out some of his other projects on his website. I won't get into an argument on "what is art" because whilst I don't believe this is traditional art, I think it's something fun to look at.

- Any ho-down, I hope you enjoyed as much as I did, If you ever have anything crazy-random that you discover on the internet, share it with me! Always interested!
