11 :2 Spring-y feeling.

- If I look out of my window, I see grey skies, trees bent nearly in half with the wind, and rain travelling horizontal to the pavement. If I listen, I can also hear crowds of school children screaching (probably due to the fact that is their break time, and it's raining). These aren't exactly sounds that radiate spring, but inside my room is a little spring themed room! - I am a winter person through and through, but I love the colours of spring, so pretty.

- I use my tumblr as a way to collate inspirational pictures, not necesarilly to follow the hoardes of little girls in love with One Direction! When I am feeling a little lack-lustre I just look for images to bring a little happiness, I'd liker to share my current favourites with you.

7 :2 A Slight Obsession With Peach Maxi Skirts - I'm Taking my Mind From the Fact I am Going to be Frightened to Death This Eve.

- There is just something about the billowing of fabric around your legs as you walk, the elegance of the flowing material.

- I love wearing maxi skirts - even in the winter - I love it so much because when it is so cold I can put leggings on underneath, and no one knows!

- My boyfriend (who refers to my taste in fashion as 'hobo') HATES with a passion my collection of  long skirts.

- I can't help it though, I love how demure, and how unrevealing they are.

- Perhaps I was born in the wrong time era. . . or maybe I should be Amish. . but I'm going to continue to wear my skirts!

- I think long gone are the days where long skirts were simply for the frumpy, high fashion breathes longer hemlines and everyday outfits should be able to carry off such a simple statement.

- This current obsession began with the first image, which I found on tumblr - I just loved the swathes of peachy fabric against the sharp black blazer. . . So now I am in search of a peachy skirt - but it must be just right, tight maxi skirts are perhaps (along with being a MAJOR throwback of the 90's) the
most unflattering things known to man.

- I think it is a common view that only tall people can wear maxi skirts, is it not? For fear of the shorter among us becoming swallowed in the long hemlines - I don't have this problem, being the giant I am! - but I don't believe it is exactly true (google the Olsen twins, they are teeny-tiny and wear long hems all the time. . they look stunning doing so).

- On most occasions I listen to the man, but this time I think I will ignore him ( I think he just wants me to get my legs out!!) He takes me shopping in beautiful vintage stores ( I will have to show you some of my recent purchases) and happily pulls pieces from the shelves for me. . . but I'm  not having this one. I AM RIGHT - did he not know that? I'm always correct!!

- What do you think? Yay or Nay? Should we tuck the long skirts away and stick to the shorter versions, or are you in on the long skirt?

4 :4 Where Do You Get Your Inspiration?

- I often see posts on gorgeous blogs (ahem) of 'Inspiration' posts

 

-but what I really want to know is. Is this what really inspires you, or is it what you think other people want to see at that time, are they simply pictures of things you like the look of?

- Then again, is that not something that inspires you?! Is there a difference between liking the look of something and it inspiring you?!

- Whenever I am feeling down or unwell, or just not myself I like to surround myself in a visual world of images which make me happy, this is my inspiration, and more often than not these images come into fruition in my daily life, they inspire me to do projects in my own world!

 

 

- I do have a LOT of exciting projects to share with you in the next couple of posts

- I promise, they are good ones! (even if the image quality is crud - by crud, I mean not my normal standard, but I think I am a little OCD so all shall be well)

- Anyway, I used to download and store thousands of inspirational images onto my hardrive (which is now caput and I have to save everything to an external one, that story aside) I now primarily use three different sources of inspiration.

1. Pinterest   <<pssst that goes to my Pinterest account! (we all know and use Pinterest yes? If we don't we do now! get to it!) [these are from my 'Think' board]

 

2. Tumblr  <<pssst that goes to THFM!  (now I know this has a stigma [14 years old] and what annoys me the most is that on tumblr the source of the original image is often lost. . . whereas on pinterest it is automatically logged, but I love my tumblr account for little things like decorations, gifts, trinkets, jewellery etc. . . I find it really inspiring, and as long as you are willing to put up with usernames such as W-H-O0-R-E-Z you are ok, I tend to ignore that tat, I can't be bothered with it, instead I curate my own little world in images, and ALL images I post are linked back to their source (If they are re-blogged, well I can't help that!) reblogging, that's another issue I have with Tumblr . .

Does anyone really see Tumblr as blogging? I know a few people do write posts on it, but the majority are just for image inspiration no?

3. Fashiolista  <<pssst that goes to my profile! (I'm a fashion junkie. I'll admit it. and yes I just have spent another 80 euro on clothes today - I was going to buy some boots, oh my gosh they are perfect, BUT they don't have them online, and they didn't have my size in store yesterday!!! - That aside, I often forget to log my finds into Fashiolista, but I think it's a great source of inspiration!!)

- If you're still with me after that ridiculously long post, well done, have 50 euro! . . . orrr. . . you could listen to this tune. It's my boyfriend's band, and I am ridiculously proud of them, so go and listen. Off you pop!
