8 :1 Hairdye Remover Review (Scott Cornwall Colour B4)

- I am going to say, there are very few products that I believe in, that I think will actually work when they have such LARGE claims. I especially didn't believe in this product. So, these are totally my opinions.

-Ever dyed your hair and then thought 'oh sh*t!'?'

- I've done it, we've all done it! Trust me, my hair has been many colours! The hardest to get out? RED! If you're not sure, don't do it!!

- My friend, has been adamant that she will not be dying her hair since I have known her. Then one day - she turns around and surprises us all and says 'I'm going to dye my hair', now my friends know I have dyed my hair a LOT, so she asks me what I think, to which I reply 'you should probably only use a semi-permenant colour, I mean, If you really don't like it . . at least you won't have to wait for it to grow out. . .'

- Did she take my advice? did she 'eck as like!!!

- So she dyes her hair this gorgeous purple colour. Not in your face purple. . but a dark brown that gleamed in the light. I loved it. She hated it. Twenty-something years of staring into the mirror and having a nutmeg colour looking back at her had marred her vision (or something to that effect)

- Therefore, we set about trying to remove it with something called Scott Cornwall Colour B4 Hair Colour Remover Extra. (moouuuuuuthfull!)

- I do know of a girl I went to school with who had some luck with this product, but the reviews are all over the place, with some people screaming it's praises and some wanting to bury it in the soil. Salons? yea, we could go down that route. . . but who has the money? (says the girl who has just had a full head of foils done - woohoo! no more dark blonde! another time Han, another time!)

- I know in America, they seem to have a lot more choice when it comes to things like this, but here, we had the choice of this. or err this!

- With that in mind we did not have high hopes.

- The mixture, when mixed together, smells like cat urine. (and it lingers, every time you wash your hair for the next fortnight, it's going to re-smell like cat urine.)

- Our bathroom stank, our entire house stank, the kind of stink that makes your eyes water and you want to stick cotton wool balls up your nose!

- Clingfilming of heads is actively encouraged! allllriighhhhtttt! (no, I'm not 8, I just act it!)

DSC_0214

- Buuuuuuut, after hours of applying, stinking-out, and rubbing, if we are completely honest, it got her hair back to it's normal colour. If a little redder to begin with, over the next couple of washes, it almost completely came out and her hair is back where she started. With NO visible death to the existing hair. (i.e. doesn't feel like straw, like it does when you bleach colour out)

- I feel the need to also mention, that this is for the removal of hair DYE, not bleach, I mean if you've bleached your hair, you're stuck with it, you haven't added colour to your natural hair, you've removed it, and it's quite likely you may end up looking like this. . .

4 :5 Some MORE Blogs Everyone Should Love!! (The Versatile Blogger Award)

- Right beautiful's (can that be plural? who knows!) . . I have something to share with you. . . . something that for me was pretty exciting! This was my first ever blog award (yes yes, I know I posted the other first, it was easier! - and that's not that the other was not important to me. . oh god I talk myself in circles [and I may or may not have another aswell - which to tell you the truth made this one a little easier, that way I could give all the blogs I love a fair shout out. . but shh for now!]) and it was given to me by the amazing Amanda of Poppies and Icecream! - Who, if you don't already read, then you should!!

- I have to admit, I'm terrible at keeping on top of everyones posts, mainly because I love so many different blogs, so I read a great wad of them at once and catch up!

Anyway this Award is the Versatile Blogger Award,

- Now I'm supposed to tell you 7 things about myself and pass it along to 15 blogs I love (what's with the numbers here guys? why not nice neat numbers? I guess you could say that's one thing about me, I like things to be in equal groups! - but I'll give you that one free!)

-I decided I'd try and give you some information on myself that I wouldn't casually drop into one of my posts, something a bit extra, other than "my name is Hanna [Woeking - if you're being nosey or stalk-y] and I'm in my 20's"  you know the drill! So, here we go. . .

-(and it's going to be a lengthy one. . sorry. .  but you know you want to know these things about me! I never tell you anything personal!)  I could tell you that I have an obsession with ". . ." but you probably already grasped that one. . . and that I prefer "[ . . .]" over "(. . .)". . .but you know, how exciting is that!?

dressing up

1, I love to dress up!, my normal style is, well, I've described it before as a 'walking bazaar' and that's pretty accurate. . . sooo these two are NOT my usual style, my friends and I, if we were going (sadly way in the past now) out on a night out, we loved to get made up - and it's funny, but I always got chatted up more when I was dressed up!!! (we aren't taking the mick, we are actually genuinely trying something different, you wouldn't believe the research that went into these!)

parade

2. I love carnivals. I love how happy people are at carnivals. What more can I say on that?!

sky
3. I love the sky- I love looking at the sky, I love taking pictures of the sky,  I love the sky at night, I love the sky in the morning, I just love the sky.

I love how it is forever changing, yet is always there, it's a constant, it's not going to run off on you, I guess the sky is a bit like life, it's going to keep being there, but it's going to keep changing, nothing's going to be the same again.

synchro

4. I guess you could say I'm a waterbaby. I am a competetive synchronised swimmer (team in green - look at the babies next to us, . awww!) When you compete, they pull your hair back into a bun as tight as it will go and then because you can't compete wearing your swim cap they paint gelatine onto your bun - almost like a waterproof gel - it's horrid and you have to have a REALLY hot shower to melt it out! I competed nationally - not up to Olympics standard yet!

me water

- I'm obsessed with the sea. End.

waterways

-I love going kayaking. Trust me my skills are a little more advanced than the picture below, which was a genuine rowing accident - the picture was taken at JUST the right time, my oar got stuck on the side of the bridge as we went under and literally threw me from my seat. Hilarious and a brilliant picture I love (if only for the memories)!

boat

5. I love the first time it snows. The anticipation of some EPIC slope action ahead. . .

snow

6. I don't love sleep- I think it's a waste of life. I go to sleep late, and I get up early. . . If I'm having a lay in, it's probably because I'm not very well! But, sometimes, this catches up on me, and I end up crashing in perculiar places!

sleep

 7. My hair usually looks like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards! I describe it as the 'Europe' look! - I can tame it, I just choose not to, I have more important things to be doing than my hair, having said that, I do occasionally like to just sit and play with it. . and if Im leaving the house, it will look allright, as I'm writing this, it actually looks pretty presentable (I thought I was going out today-  turns out I'm not!).

I wish my hair was red again! This was the actual colour of my hair about a year ago, and this is my natural colour that I have spent a year, and hundreds of pounds (I haven't added it up, but it's probably getting to that figure) getting it back to. The red was just so much more exciting!!

NOW for the exciting bit! (now you've heard some completely daft facts about me!, I want to hear some daft facts about you lot!)

- Muchos besos!

( I really hope you do go and check out, even a few of these blogs, I mean nothing is better than a saturday, or sunday just reading through some interesting posts, or looking at some pictures, and I love these blogs and they deserve some love. and I made it easy for you! - ok I could have made it easier by having the blog linked to the picture,  but I'm being lazy, so it's the list underneath!)

2 :23 Betsey Johnson A/W11 Hair (NYFW)

-We all know Betsey Johnson is known for being a little bit 'out there', but that is the reason we love her is it not?!

- I've recently found these images from Betsey Johnson's Autumn/Winter 2011 runway show at New York Fashion Week, and the thing that really impressed me the most was the hair the models were sporting.

- It makes a change from the usual mussed up beachy waves everyone and their grandma seems to be sporting at the moment.

- I love the use of lace as a stencil! so creative!

- Sadly this is not a look I will be rocking, as my completely out of control Europe-esque mop doesn't and couldn't stay brushed long enough!

2 :11 D.I.Y-ing My Hair!

DSC_00672

- It's kind of hard to ignore the sudden influx of creative hair dying at the moment. Whether it's Ombré tips or a full on bleach job.

- I have probably had my hair every colour under the sun at some point from black to blonde to red to peroxide (with a bit of green, orange and pink thrown in there for good measure) However recently I have decided to leave it be and just let it be it's natural medium blonde colour. I'm doing well. It's been this way longer than I thought possible, but I need colour in my life, it's so boring without it!

- My hair colour is definitely something that effects my mood. The darker it is, the more drab I feel. I LOVE darker hair on other people, but on me, no.

- Just look at this!

- and of course we have all seen how gorgeous this is. . .

- Today I decided to put some pink in my hair, well, I left all my other dyes in my flat so all I had available was pink so it was decided for me. In all fairness the green and blue fade funny (lookin' a bit mouldy!) but the pink fades to a slightly oranger shade of my natural colour and then back to normal, so it's a good choice!.

pink hair!
- Having dyed my hair soooo many times, other than the obvious (don't over wash your hair etc) I have learnt that if you paint the colour onto dry hair (not damp like it suggests) it stays longer, and is brighter.

- If my hair was dark, I'd obviously have to bleach it out first, but I got away with it being painted straight onto my natural colour. I may go over it again just to make it a little more vibrant, but for now I'm happy.

- Side note, have you ever tried to take a picture of your own hair?! it's freaking hard!
